Asterisk Engineer

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as system administrator with regards to the operation of Asterisk/FreePBX servers and software
  • Scripting with Shell, Perl, Python
  • R & D skills in Asterisk
  • Integration with MRCP
  • Creating and Integrating service provider SIP/VoIP Accounts with asterisk
  • Constantly develop and improve standards and systems
  • Tightening the security of Asterisk Server Should be hands on in all day to day operational activities of maintaining live platform, troubleshooting of dialer issues, application issues
  • Play an integral role in all stages of software development from conception to rollout to production
  • 2 – 4 years of experience working on Asterisk platform
  • Preference would be given to having experience on IVR and Call Center application development
  • Hands on experience in multiple SIP Servers
  • Experience in interfaces like EAGI, Fast AGI, ARI and AGI
  • Experience in installing Hosted VoIP
  • Worked on Queue, IVR and Voicemail related applications
  • Worked on Queue, IVR and Voicemail related applications
  • Experienced with Linux (LAMP) servers (Centos, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
  • Candidate should be familiar and comfortable with Asterisk latest version
  • Asterisk integration with PSTN is preferred
  • Asterisk integration with Database (MySQL and MSSQL) with knowledge of queries and stored procedures
  • Strong Knowledge in PBX, SIP, RTP protocols
  • Strong Knowledge on web RTC and STUNN Servers
  • Strong knowledge of multi-asterisk server architecture
  • Sound knowledge of Asterisk Dial-plan, Asterisk Gateway Interface and Asterisk Manager Interface
  • Expert in Asterisk installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot Asterisk applications/issues
  • Experience with Asterisk, Kamailio / Opensips Servers
  • Create, document, and enforce procedures and policy for the administration and security of servers, applications, and endpoints.
  • Implement best practices in maintaining, and enforcing IT operations policies, procedures, and associated plans for software security, disaster recovery, continuity, etc.
  • Troubleshoot phone features and application issues.
  • Work with staff and vendors to gather requirements, scope technical efforts, determine solutions, setup high level project tasks/plans, and implement those solutions
